I'm manually transferring files & folders (800GB of them.) from my time machine backup of my 2017 MBP Mojave, to my older 2011 MBP High Sierra (since the older MBP can't be set up as a new Mac from my TM backup that was made because of hardware backwards-incompatibility). I've been through 1000s of files copying them, syncing them, etc, I can't get a consistent error other than copying all the files in the folder It's always the same files causing the problem The issues seemed to be caused by the files in the folder, but if I copy the files in small groups sometimes I can get all the files to the folder and then the analyse will work If I copy the files manually to the target the problem happens (error 0x80090006) happens every time after that The next time analyse is run the Invalid Signature. If the problem folder is empty on the target, GoodSync will analyse, and sync the first time without any problems I have gathered the following information: I've spent a huge amount of time on this and I'm running out of things to try. The first time I do a sync it's fine, then when I try to do it again I one of the following error messages:Įrror analysing \\mac-mini\Data 03\Test: Invalid Signature. I use GoodSync but I'm pretty sure that's not the issue because I've downloaded and tested a few other sync programs, all have the same issue. If the only errors on the list are operating system files (not your own photo or data files), then you can ignore this issue. For example, as a Macintosh user, I often see errors related to the Spotlight search feature indexing the drive in the background while a one-way synchronization backup is in progress. In most cases these errors will be caused by the operating system doing work in the background. Next, you can choose View > Errors from the menu to see a list of errors that occurred during the synchronization process. Again, for a one-way backup, this won’t be an issue. You can do so by choosing View > Conflicts from the menu to display a list of conflicts for files on the drives being synchronized.
